The Mountain Road Resort at Stowe is not owned by a large corporation, insurance company or hotel chain. The people who work here are all Vermonters, both life-long residents and transplants. Your hotel fees go to support our employees, local businesses, the Stowe community and the beautiful state of Vermont – not the profits of a distant parent company.

The Mountain Road Resort is an AAA three diamond resort and was one of the first in Stowe to receive an AAA four diamond award. The hotel received accolades from Conde Nast Johansens, the Mobil Guide, Elegant Small Hotels, and our Aqua Center was recognized for excellence.

Limited to 31 guest rooms and condo-suites, The Mountain Road Resort is the intimate resort in Stowe. That means there is more attention given to details and to your individual needs. A sense of romance and style is evident in all of the designer decorated guest rooms and condo suites.
Our condo-suites are absolutely unique in Stowe - truly "world-class"; with lovely décor, gas powered fireplaces and wonderful Jacuzzis. The Mountain Road Resort offers free wireless internet facility wide, an indoor heated pool, mini-fitness center, Sauna and Grand Jacuzzi. Children of every age love watching family friendly movies in the indoor heated pool projected in high definition on a two story high screen!
Relax under the stars in our heated Moon Spa or toast marshmallows by the fire located on the alpine terrace at the Main Lodge. After a day of sporting activity join us by the fire in the Main Lodge for complimentary hors devourers and freshly baked cookies. During holiday weeks we host complimentary wine and cheese welcome receptions for our guests.
As always we offer a free continental breakfast with a variety of yogurt, cereal, home baked breads, muffins, pastries, bagels, oatmeal, granola and an assortment of fresh fruit. We proudly serve locally roasted Green Mountain Coffee.
Our Wine Bar is open every evening from 5:00 to closing. Relax by the fire in the Main Lodge with a glass of carefully selected world-class wine or beer. The Library in the Main Lodge offers a large selection of hard back novels for your reading pleasure.
There are several signature shops within walking distance from the Resort. The Harvest Market is a luxury food market located at the foot of our driveway. The Alpine Mart is directly across the street and offers everything from Subway sandwiches, beer and wine, to a variety of household goods. Fine dining and nightlife are close also. The Rusty Nail, The Gray Fox Pub, Ladies Invited Bar, Olives Bistro and Hana of Japan – all within walking distance.
You don’t need your car to get around Stowe! - the free Stowe Mountain Shuttle runs all day long and pickups are at the end of our driveway.
